Catholic Young Adults of Newfoundland is an active group of young people who love to fellowship, learn about their faith, and grow closer to God. In order to accomplish these, CYAN hosts a variety of events from theological discussions to movie nights. To keep up-to-date with all of our events, make sure to visit our Facebook page.
Some of the events hosted by CYAN include:
Theology on Tap
Theology on Tap takes place several times per year at East Side Mario's on Portugal Cove Road. Over the years we've heard from the Principal of a Catholic school, the head of a convent, pro-life doctors, and many more inspiring speakers. The topics are informative and very interesting.
A group of Catholic men often get together on Thursday nights to discuss various personal and theological issues. It is a night specifically geared toward the men of the group.
Girls' Night A group of Catholic women often get together to discuss various personal and theological issues. It is a night specifically geared toward the women of the group.
Youth & Young Adult Mass Hosted by local priests with the youth & young adult community. An invitation to celebrate mass for all ages, and to take part in the various ministries of mass followed by a friendly social after.
CYAN Bi-Annual Retreats
Retreats are held bi-annually with seminars given by key note speaker(s) and guest speakers on topics based on the retreat theme(s) (healing, prayer, vocations, gifts of the Holy Spirit, etc.). Adoration, reconciliation, mass, praise & worship, small group discussions and a social event are also incorporated into the retreats.
As not only fellow Catholics, but also close friends, our group will often meet to celebrate a birthday, anniversary, baptism, or other life event. Sometimes we gather for no particular reason at all. These gatherings often take place at a member's house and involve food and drink. All are welcome!
